The Riverwood Rays hosted their final home swim meet of the season this week at Riverwood Athletic Club against Lake Park.
The Rays won the divisional event 293 to 217.
This was the Rays 11th straight win, and it positions them to compete for a 2nd consecutive division championship at Black Horse Run, Tuesday, July 16th.
The Rays double winner from the 6 and under boys age group was Porter Cottle.
The Rays triple winners included Nia Stringfield, Tyler Henry, and Sadler Miller.
Raston Sharron set a new team and pool record in the backstroke while Kyra Stringfield broke team and pool records swimming freestyle.
Way to go, Rays!
A big thank you from Scott Hammond goes to the many volunteers that help all of our swim meets run smoothly. Multiple people from Lake Park complimented the Rays on a smooth and efficient meet.
Next Up for the Rays
The Rays next meet will be on Tuesday, July 16th at Black Horse Run. In a surprising turn, Black Horse Run lost this week to North Raleigh 324 to 190. Next week’s meet against Black Horse Run will decide the division championship. The Rays hold tiebreakers in point differential against common opponents.
Check back with us next week to see if the Rays hold on to their winning streak!
We are cheering for you, Rays!
Save the date for the end of the year Tar Heel Swim Association Championship Meet, Saturday, July 20th and 21st at Triangle Aquatic Center, Cary. The Rays will swim on Sunday, July 21st.
